Oh No! It's Oeno!

Wichita Night Life

With the opening of his new Wine Bar on Mead in Oldtown, Melad Stephans has a serious point about turning Mead St. into Melad St.  He currently owns and operates three of the dozen or so shops in the Oldtown Square: Bellini's, Uptown Bistro and now Oeno (pronouced EE-no).

With the addition of the wine bar in the Oldtown Square, Wichitans now have a terrific, upscale place to lounge at. With low-sitting, comfortable suede and leather couches and seats, low-lights and soft jazz music in the background, Oeno provides a very luxurious feel in a smoke-free environment. All of that and the manager was more than encouraging for our group to move the seating and couches around in whatever configuration we liked.

Prices aren't through the roof either. With the average glass of wine coming in at $8, martini's around $7 and other drinks in the $5-6 range, the atmosphere is not passed on to the price of the drinks.

The wait staff is extremely friendly, chatting with patrons and engaging them in conversations about the wines; perfectly willing to throw in recommendations and educate the pedestrian wine-drinker on what goes good with which.

All in all, Melad has scored a hit with Oeno. The atmosphere is just exactly what Downtown Wichita needed as an option.

 Definitely a 5 out of 5.

Oeno is definately what Wichita has been needing for a long time. The atmosphere is sophisticated, yet inviting. Surprisingly, the crowd was friendly. The drinks were delicious. My favorite is the Mahnolo Martini (named after the infamous stillettos - Mahnolo Blahniks.) Prices are very reasonable. Although I am a smoker, it is nice to enjoy a smoke free place...and the smoking area outside is not bad.
Thanks for bringing Oeno to Wichita :)

Thanks for another fad night club in "Old Town". It'll be closed in 2 years.

In response to the last post (I know it's years later).
Oeno is not a nightclub and it's now almost 3 years later and still doing wonderfully. Oeno won't be going anywhere for awhile.
