WSU Barton School of Business
WichitaWSU is sponsoring a statewide competition to find the "next big thing" in Kansas with hopes of uncovering another Tom Devlin (ABC Rent-to-Own) or Dan and Frank Carney (Pizza Hut founders).
The "Shocker Business Plan Competition" is open to college students around the state of Kansas (all 4-year Universities are eligible). The deadline for submitting intent to play is January 26th. Those entrants must then submit a business plan by March 30th.
From there, the competition enters something akin to a Donald Trump Reality Show where entries will be eliminated based on content, feasibility and viability by a panel of judges. The top 8 entries will present their formal presentations on April 27th.
The WINNER of the competition will receive $10,000 in cash to get their business idea a little boost towards reality...that's just a BIT better than the Carney Brother's received in 1958 when they borrowed $300 to start Pizza Hut...
