Final Flight

National News

WW II VetsIn a very touching and sentimental announcment this week, the Pearl Harbor Survivors, who have had a reunion in Hawaii every decade or sometimes every five years since WWII, have declared this years meeting the "Final Reunion".

With World War II vets in their 80's and 90's, the number of returning Vets dwindles further with each passing event. In 2001, there were 650 in attendance and this year only 450 have shown up.

USS Arizona sunk in the attack on Pearl Harbor"REMEMBER PEARL HARBOR!" is their mantra, something they make a point of reminding everyone about when they have these reunions on December 7th...something, in this day and age, we should all pay close attention to. When we become so complacent that we appear weak, other "Enemies" will (and have) take(n) advantage of that attitude. It happened on December 7th, 1941 and it happened on September 11th, 2001.

Good post and good points. Remember December 7th and September 11th, two very bad days in American history.

lest we forget.
