Good grief, I go on vacation for a week and a half and the World goes to hell in a hand basket.

I would like to take this time to again draw attention to the ridiculous national and world media reporting. All that I ask is for people to take media reports with a grain of salt and not as gospel. FAR too often these days reporters are simply regurgitating news from the original source rather than doing the footwork themselves. If AP comes up with a story, the media gobbles it up and then pukes it out to the rest of the world and calls it fact. What if the AP reporter was full of crap? What if they weren't full of crap, but simply WRONG. Knee-jerk reporting in International News is getting more and more out of control seemingly on a daily basis. We have these mercenaries posing as journalists who couldn't care less if they get the story right, but have a great picture of mangled bodies and corpses aplenty to sell to the highest bidder.

And if you think the American press is rank, take a look sometime at Al Jazeera. "Unbiased media" that basically acts as nothing more than a dissemination point for Al Qaeda and any other thug terrorist organization who wants to get their message out.

Every time I think I've seen the worst the press could possibly come up with, they easily and frequently put that notion in the toilet. I can't BELIEVE the press is so eagerly replaying Saddam's hanging, for example (more on that later). And don't get me started on G. Ford.

Just double-check what you read; seek out independent sources and know the facts before you go off the deep end over what you hear on the "news".
