My Sweet Lord

National News

"This is one of the worst assaults on Christian sensibilities ever," said Bill Donohue, head of the watchdog Catholic League.

 Really? Ever?

With everything else going on in the World, is this REALLY something to be "outraged" about?

I mean really...Christians being beheaded in the Middle East isn't a worse offense than a Milk Chocolate Jesus?

I think we need to make a new blog category called "really stupid statements".

right after my last post.
Are you telling me something?
Should I be flattered?

Another analogy for this:

Outraged over this, yet cover up the molestation of young boys by priests for how many years?

Gotta shake my head over this one.

And what about those Jesus dolls that came out last Christmas? But I guess the commercialization of God and Christ is OK. (I need an eye-rolling icon here.)

How in the hell could anything made of chocolate be bad????? I've had the dismal misfortune of channel surfing into some news program from time to time where this Donohue was babbling about one thing or another, and he's a real loony tune. I get the feeling he was a priest wannabe, but when they started talking about vows of poverty, chastity and the like, he bolted. Actually, he'd made a great staunch Southern Baptist boy...you know, they kind that won't have sex standing up because if someone saw them, they might think they were dancing! :)

Donohue and his racist bigots claim to have 350,000 members? Yeah, right. If a professional outrage monger like Donohue told me the sky was blue, I'd check.

Speaking of offensiveness, Jesus, and chocolate, here's a good one for the Friday before Good Friday:

-Q: Why doesn't the risen Jesus eat M&M's?

-A: They fall through his stigmata.

CF will be praying, fervently, hoping for forgiveness.

Well, it appears the Church is safe; exhibition canceled.

1. It was art, made out of chocolate. And the church has a whole mess of art. (I was going to use different choice words, but hey decided not to).

2. There are more important things to worry about than art, such as why some priests felt the urge to molest children and then did so, seriously, and then cover it up. What the heck?!?!

This comes from a person who recently chose to follow the Catholic faith. Which is an interesting read in and of itself.

Further, since molestation was brought up, I'm a firm supporter of allowing priests to marry again, since it was allowed pre-1000A.D. I don't have doubts this will stop molestation(look at the "to catch a predator" series on Dateline). This is another reason why I want to work in law enforcement.

Ok... I need to quit writing as this is pissing me off. Child abuse is one of the worst crimes ever. Period.

I loved the bobble head Jesus, the action hero Jesus, the boxing nun, and my all time favorite, the wind up "Nunzilla", who carries a ruler in her hand, a bible in the other, and spits flames (sparks, actually) as she waddles around.
I think there would be a great market for a chocolate (my sweet lord) Jesus, I'd buy a dozen for my grandkid's Easter baskets!
