Speaking of Molesting.....

National News

The subject of Jesus and him being made out of milk chocolate quickly led to the discussion regarding Catholic Priests and the molestation of children, particularly young boys.

As if there hasn't already been enough of this crap going on, along with the media's fanatical sick need to cover it in every minute detail...now we have a CONFESSED pedophile on the Internet with a virtual HOW-TO book for men interested in "observing" young girls. Specifically young girls ages 3-11.

That's right.

Jack McClellan in Seattle, WA is a self-confessed pedophile; but he insists it isn't a bad thing. He equates his obsession with young girls to "bird watching". He merely enjoys it as he would any other "hobby".

Apparently he's not officially doing anything illegal because his actions do not involve sexual acts nor do they contain any sexually explicit material. What the website DOES contain, however is instructions on the best places to watch little girls, how to avoid detection, and how far you can go (including "hugging" and "cuddling") before legal action can be taken. Likewise, the website does contain pictures of little girls (unaware they were being photographed) at places like parks, plays, and other public venues.

Of particular note is where McClellan says that it's perfectly OK to look, but not OK to touch because there are laws in place to prevent that...NOT "it's sick and morally abhorrent", just that he doesn't because the law is stopping him.

Just when you step out and think "I can't possibly see anything worse in the world today..."

This guy needs to be permanently shut-down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go take a shower to get this stench off me:

Dubya,

I apologize if I upset you by bringing up the priest thing. It seems we can't hit a medium with this "news". Once it was hidden, and now it's everywhere.

As a former Catholic (born and raised), I guess I think I have the right to shout. I don't. But I do enjoy a Catholic joke more than some. Life is a drag if you can't laugh at yourself. :)

But this McClellan guy takes the cake, as they say. And as I said on another thread, this world is f***ed.

Pre -

You didn't upset me at all...McClellan, now that's a different story. I just thought the two topics syncronicitized :P well. Since people were mentioning the Catholic thing, it was a nice segway.

No harm, no foul :)

~Dubya, what McClellan is doing is morally reprehsensible; socially unacceptable; but from what I can discern, violative of no statute. Are you finished with the shower? :-)

As a man, I find it utterly repulsive that ANY man could even find young girls attractive, nonetheless act on that attraction.

Christ, I do not even find 25 year old women attractive!

I realize that sexual attraction is more or less an automatic function, but some guys have to realize that they are not normal and seek help for their issues.

As a Grandfather of a six year old, I have to say that I am concerned with pedophiles. Fortunately, she has near constant supervision and is not allowed to play outside without being observed.

I can only hope that the poor souls that find themselves so afflicted will seek professional help before they cross the line, because once they cross that line, all bets are off.

WS,

I know that feeling as a father, who the hell preys on our children and why don't they see this is wrong?!?! It is one of the biggest reasons for me wanting to go into law enforcement. Do my part in helping to stop these individuals from preying on our children. I'll have two daughters come July, and well I'm not paranoid, but certainly want to keep the world a safer place for them.

There are good things about the Internet, and then there are the bad. This guy takes advantage of the latter.

I'm glad my girls were all raised out in the country. Even someone driving by was noticed, and I paid attention.

I know these things have gone on since time began, but sick is sick. When you're sick, get help!

(Better? Sorry I had work screaming to be done and couldn't put it off any longer.)

No one really knows what starts someone else's engine. I had a former live-in that got turned on when I was dirty, stinky, filthy, sweating from working in the yard and garden.

I couldn't even stand myself and she wanted to boink.

Who knows?

The difference is that people should know what is legal and what is not. Wanting to have sex with your partner when they are less than clean is not a crime. - wanting to have sex with a child is.

Hopefully, those that have thoughts that cross the line will seek the help they need.

Not all adults who commit sex offenses against children are pedophiles, but for those who are pedophiles, I don't think there is much in the way of effective help for them. I have read where the Clockwork Orange type behavior therapy works, but requires a pretty motivated client and close supervision.

I would hope that society could develop the means to treat people BEFORE the fact rather than execute them AFTER the fact.

We can subject Courey and Davis to capital punishment, but that won't bring back Jessica Lunsford or Polly Klass.

I don't know if there are treatments that completely work - I have heard that there are medicine regimes that help - but waiting until the predators strike does not seem like a good plan of action to me.

We have to do better than what we have done. Capital punishment is not a deterrent to anyone other than the original perp. We have to find a way to PREVENT these crimes before they happen.

I couldn't sleep. So decided that punishment is supposed to be a deterrent, now if castrating a male who rapes someone would cause other males to think, maybe I shouldn't do that. Would it be cruel and unusual punishment? If nothign else stopped it?

I'm of the opinion, that if no lesser means can stop the crime or slow it down, then it isn't cruel and unusual. However, courts say otherwise. Castration unnecessarily makes it impossible for the male to later have children if he so desired, even if it would cause rape to decrease.

For those who molest children, one could always put them in gen. pop. then as a society wouldn't have to have the death penalty for them. ;) However, I think they should be made to feel what the child felt. Oh one could rest assured for their short time in gen. pop. they probably would, however... again we wouldn't be doing our job properly in taking care of our criminals.

However, if I continue I'll be going way off topic, so perhaps I'll write up an article on prisons, crime, and punishment for discussion, if there would be interest in that topic.

Okay, despite my better judgement, I'll weigh in on this.
As long as both the chocolate sculptor and the guy who confesses to being "agualung" from Jethro Tull have done nothing dangerous, blatently illegal, or otherwise 'actionable', the ONLY and BEST way to handle this is like some blog pests. IGNORE IT/THEM.

The pedohile says he perfectly happy looking without touching.
Fine.
But why in the world would he advertise that fact?
For some kind of sick thrill he gets out of the knowledge that people are paying attention, not only to him, but also his sick thoughts.
I believe that is the ultimate fetish for this guy,
knowing that he can go out in public and parents will KNOW that he is thinking sick thoughts about their kids. Now that's beyond pedophile. Don't know if we even have a good descriptive word for this.

The dude with the sculpture seems to be a good artist.
He just needs to grow up and promote his talent, not some purposely overblown statement on religion.

There is no effective therapy for pedophiles/anti social personalities, the best we can hope for is that they mellow out with age. What about giving them a choice? Castration or life in psychiatric or criminal facility? That way society will be somewhat protected from their sexual acting out.
Personally, I believe anyone who rapes a child deserves the death penalty. If someone did that to my child or grandchild, I'd kill them myself.
