Since I mentioned some computer programming environments on one of the other topics here, I thought I would be the first(or attempt to be anyway) to post here a concept of programming. Specifically a type of data structure called a stack.

Simply put, a stack is a collection of items that are first in - last out. An example, lets say I have a basket and some books(B1, B2, and B3). I would push into the basket, B1, then B2, then B3. and would pop them out of the basket as B3, B2, and B1. As a result, this defines two of the functions every stack implementation has: push and pop. Another good one is top, which looks at the element that pop would remove from the stack, without removing it.

An interesting use that I had for my second semester CS course(Data Structures) was using a stack to find the shortest path through a little maze, where numbers indicated how long it would take to go through a particular section of it.

I didn't go into all kinds of detail about this. And maybe next week, I'll talk about a queue. Or not, depends if anybody is really interested in reading about this or not.

Danny, as I am a "closet geek", post away. Data structures have always fascinated me; push and pop are concepts with which I've a bit of familiarity in the stack context (tried a little Basic programming years ago, wrote a little assembler subroutine to hold a stack, etc.), but frankly haven't had time to do much more than amuse myself.

By the way, folks, if this is too arcane, I'll keep my posts to myself; but I am fascinated with programming (born about 20-30 years too early) so Danny's comments will be of interest to me, even if I don't really understand them.

I would point out that I've used some elementary programming concepts to build spreadsheets and data bases in apps like dBase, Access; so, all knowledge is appreciated by me.

Danny, if I may; for those who wonder just what he's talking about, a simple illustration from a computer science course long, long ago: think of a stack as the plate holder in a cafeteria; new plates are put in the holder ("pushed" on the stack), from which the same are removed therefrom ("popped" from the stack) in LIFO order. Think of data "bits" as the plates, and it helps to understand the process.

Danny, understand your quick example; it recalled the cafeteria plate holder to me while reading it.

On programming, etc., maybe I was born 40 years too early; as all of you who have been bored to tears by me know, my public school of choice to support is Northeast Magnet here in Wichita. The school is affiliated with DigiPen through a grant received some two years ago, and are busily preparing the interested young folks to go on to DigiPen Institute (and other higher ed institutions) so they may, if they wish, program games. The programming concepts taught have application to areas other than gaming, but given its DigiPen, gaming is a high priority.

Did the Military and/or Pentagon fabricate these stories on their own, or were the instructed to do so? Maybe not implicit, detailed instructions, but what about a "make it look good" comment?

Will we really ever know? After all, Gonzo's pitiful memory seems to have gotten him off the hook, at least for now. Maybe it should be mandatory for all government officials to take Ginkgo Biloba ("helps improve memory, especially occasional mild memory problems associated with aging.") ;)

Pre, based upon what I observed during my four years in the USAF, the military/Pentagon were perfectly capable of the fabrications without the need for outside direction/assistance. Flag officers are political creatures, as are those field grade officers aspiring for promotion; they know how to read the political currents, and how to please (or displease, depending upon the opinions then in play) their civilian bosses without any suggestions.

VT,

I had almost gone to DigiPen. However, decided that the cost was a bit prohibitive for me at the time, and chose to stay in state. Thus K-State was my destination of choice.

Any programming concepts, as you stated, are applicable to any other field in computer science. To me, game programming in particular stands out as using everything in a computer science degree. My time at KSU, I pushed really hard for a games programming course, and they did finally add one. It uses: data structures, math, science(physics mostly), and few other odds and ends that one might find interesting to add to a game.

So sorry, rm. Maybe you'd like to switch places with me for a while and clean up the eggs and the Milk of Magnesia on the carpet. Then you can chase an almost 3-year-old out of the car four times. All this while trying to do another "job". You see, not only do women multi-task much better than males, but we also multi-think. Maybe that's why I wasn't making sense. Too many things to consider in the headlines. Or maybe I've just shaken my head in utter and complete frustration too many times, when it comes to what's happening in this country.

Funny, but my alter-ego doesn't remember you attacking so much.

Danny, what you describe is, at the basics, what the students enrolling in the DigiPen course at NEMHS are required to have to enroll in the first course; seeing as it is high school, the levels aren't quite the same as at the post-high school level. There is an art course required, along with the math (minimum algebra 2, at least one semester with a C or better (B, maybe); Honors Physical Science (basic Physics); programming (whichever course introduces the students to data structures); I think that's it.

BTW, those students at NEMHS who complete the courses (three, at present) are given a scholarship in some amount if they go on to DigiPen. Almost makes me want to be in high school again (not really, but...).

Pre,

But if you want to gloat because you have a gun and therefore I will not being attending a meet - well go for it.

It say a lot more about you than it does about me.

Trying to intimidate people because you have a gun is normally considered criminal behavior.

That alone should disqualify you from getting a CC permit.

Really, Nathan? Why would you feel a need to announce that you would be carrying a gun, given that most liberals, myself included, have no fear of guns whatsoever?

As I said, I am a former and future gun owner.

I just choose not to spend time with someone that feels that they need to announce that they are carrying a gun.

As for my fear of you specifically carrying a gun?

I know more about you than you think, and for that reason, I don't want to be anywhere near you if you have a gun.

And that is not irrational.

Others liberals here should take note of that as well.

Well,

Since I seemed to have caused the typical bed wetting I had anticipated...

I figure I will let you all know now:

I will be carrying concealed in the city of Wichita almost everywhere I am allowed to.

I do frequent the Walmart on East and West Kellogg, so don't go there anymore.

I love to go to the Warren for the usual Friday or Saturday night movie. Most likely I will be going to the one on the West side and sometimes old town. So don't go there anymore either.

I drive on Kellogg usually every day. So if you are worried about being on the same road as me, I would stay off of Kellogg.

If you attended any of the other blog meet ups, well, I had already brought my pistol to those so I hope you are counting your blessings for making it out alive.

I will compile a larger and more comprehensive list of the locations you should probably avoid for the future.

Why even risk yourself or your family?

Why announce your intention to bring a gun to a social event unless you have an intention to use it for intimidation or actual violence?

The answer is that there is no good reason if someone is a responsible concealed carry holder.

This has gone way beyond just a joke or a liberal v. conservative comment. This is just plain crazy. No one should be allowed on the streets with a gun with this type of attitude.

Back on the Tillman hearing for a moment; I find it somewhat remarkable that Spc. O'Neal was given an order to not discuss the circumstances surrounding the death of Pat Tillman with anyone, especially the Tillman family. I'll leave the legality of the order to others to discuss. I'm disturbed that the commander issued such an order. I understand from reading the excerpt of the soldier's testimony that the rationale for the order (yes, I consider it an order) was cloaked in a benevolent purpose, but as details are made known, it seems to me there was already a "game" on to cover up the truth.

I'm not familiar with current regs; but "back in the day", as I recall, the notification to the family was to be as accurate as possible, as soon as possible, with further information to be provided as it became available. If it was known among the soldiers at the base the death was due to fratricide, to give any other reason to the family (except, if not 100% sure, to say "suspected fratricide") is inexcusable. Just burns my rear end.

I note that I omitted what happened to Jessica Lynch in the above rant. From reading excerpts of her testimony, it becomes clear that there was something manufactured about the circumstances of her capture and "rescue" as well. Apparently, her M-16 jammed due to sand, and she didn't fire a shot, although at the time she was being heralded as a hero who had sent several Iraqis to meet Allah. Further, it appears from reading, at the time of the videotaped rescue, there were no Iraqi soldiers at the hospital. Now, the U.S. forces wouldn't necessarily know that until they arrived, I am sure; but again, reading on either cnn.com or abcnews.go.com, there was apparently an attempt to turn her over to U.S. forces the day before the raid by the doctors at the hospital, which would seem to be notice that there were no Iraqi soldiers present. Potential for an ambush? yes, but upon arrival, it would seem to me that could be ascertained quickly, and if the tale about the attempt to turn her over the day before has credence. it seems this might have given rise to advance scouting of the situation.

Nathan, define 'intimidation', please.

Never mind, I'll do it.

in·tim·i·date Pronunciation Key - [in-tim-i-deyt]
–verb (used with object), -dat·ed, -dat·ing.
1. to make timid; fill with fear. (My comment: Enough to wet your pants?)
2. to overawe or cow, as through the force of personality or by superior display of wealth, talent, etc.
3. to force into or deter from some action by inducing fear: to intimidate a voter into staying away from the polls.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/intimidatio...
Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1)
Based on the Random House Unabridged Dictionary, © Random House, Inc. 2006.

Wanting someone to "wet their pants" sounds like a perfect example of intimidation. Would you care to try again? I'm hardly wetting my pants or soiling myself over your egotistical comment. Sorry if that makes you mad, but come on, Nathan. That was a really sad comment, even from you.

Hey, all, do I need a CCW for the knife I bought Saturday? It's a doozy! Double-edge. Very pretty, too. (No, Julie, no bodice dagger yet, but I'm working on it.) OTOH, a rusty spoon would do the same job.

I could care less that you are a Marine. That has nothing to do with this. Zero. This is about threatening to take a gun to a social event for the purposes of intimidation.

Why else would you mention that you would be bringing a gun?

And "Please, oh please, call the police."

Already done. If they give you a permit, I will take it to the media. I have already copied and pasted your relevant comments to a file. The proof is in your words.

You don't get to threaten lawful citizens in a free society, Nathan. You don't get a free pass on veiled threats just because you are a Marine.

Why would a lawful concealed carry holder feel that he had to announce that he was going to bring a gun to a social event unless he had ill intentions?

Naturally. But a little intimidation can't hurt, right? Very mean-spirited, and I was hoping-- Never mind.

The knife is 5 1/2 inches, so I guess that's out of the question. Now, the other is 3 1/2, but I wouldn't cart that around either.

Will, Nathan doesn't frighten me, and I'm not a gun lover. I don't hate them, but neither do I love them. I think the same could be said for my feelings about Nathan. Note: I'm talking hate/love not like/dislike, respect/disrespect or anything else. I am not afraid of any gun; it is an inanimate object incapable of causing any harm. I do know how dangerous a gun can be in the wrong hands.

We just last week discussed the incident at Virginia Tech. Were there warning signs? Was there something that could have stopped those needless deaths? What causes a person to go over the edge of reason?

I sincerely think a person whose first words after a meetup is announced is that he will bring a gun goes beyond immature all the way to dangerous.

Rational adults do not announce to strangers, expecially some of whom he has voiced his disdain for, that he carries a gun illegally but hopes by the next meetup to be legal. Nut he will carry whether he is or not legal and then lists many places he does carry.

Nathan has already admitted to breaking the law. Has stated he has in the past and does currently carry a concealed weapon without a permit for such.

This man is not rational. Did someone see these signs and ignore them and that's why 32 Virginia Tech students are dead?

Absolute correct, Linda, and that is why I have taken the extraordinary step of contacting LE to report the threatening comments from Mr. Price. I am sorry that he took this course of action, but people should not be walking around with guns with that type of attitude towards more than half of the American population.

I hated to "turn him in" but after VTech, someone has to speak up.

What can anyone say? I am sure that Cho's associates did not think that he was a menace. I am sure that Eric and Dylan's friends did not think they posed a threat. How do you know?

Well, one way is to look at his words. Why would anyone want to bring a weapon to a benign event like a WV Blog meet? He has already said that it was to cause liberals to "wet their pants."

Why would anyone over the age of four wet their pants unless they were in danger?

Why would anyone want to endanger people at a WV Blog meet?

Only to intimidate.

End of debate.

If you can't give me a name then I am saying you are full of crap.

I have nothing to fear because I have done nothing wrong. Unless causing a bunch of liberals to soil themselves is against the law?

Perhaps you just can't figure this out, Mr. Price. As a citizen of Wichita and Sedgwick County, I have asked that your request for a concealed carry permit be denied. That obviously will take a moment or two, but that does not mean that I did not make a report.

Fortunately for you, the Sheriff has more to do than deal with your sorry ass. I expect an answer from them and I am sure that they will do so. I have not made a report accusing you of a direct threat (since I certainly am not afraid of a punk like you) but
I have requested that you be denied your permit.

As a citizen, that is my right. You made a veiled threat and I called you out on it.

Sucks to be you, Nathan.

BTW - I made my report via the Internet, Price. Some of us know how to do that. Do you need the web site address?

Hey guys! As they say, "my dog ain't in this fight"; but, having said that, isn't this whole thing being blown way, way out of proportion? From a detached independent point of view, what started out as an unfortunate, uncalled-for remark, kinda' like Imus' "nappy headed hos", is turning into a "my dick's bigger than your dick" deal. I have nothing but respect for both of you, and have never been treated with anything but respect by either of you ... and, God knows, we haven't agreed one every topic all the time (how boring would that be?). You're both grown men, deservant of respect shown to you. How about showing some for each other. 'Nuf said.

Sorry, RM, but there are people that now will not attend a WV Blog meet because of Mr. Price's comments.

That is sad, because I do respect and care for those people. The WV meet is now dead because a little punk made some threats that we totally uncalled for.

And now he is going to lose his CC permit because of his poor judgment.

That is his problem.

Mr. Price chose to suggest that he was going to make "liberals wet their pants."

After VTech, how else should we take it?

Perhaps to are not as "worthy" as you claim, Mr. Price. It is not because a "liberal" doesn't want you to have one - it is because a respectable citizen of the County has asked that you be denied a permit because of your threats.

One way or another, I will make sure that you do not have a permit to carry a weapon in open society, Mr. Price.

Certainly after Virginia Tech, after Columbine, indeed, after Whitman in the Tower in Austin, (which you and I are old enough to remember vividly), every thinking person's awareness is heightened. But if we staged to "red alert" every time somebody made an irresponsible or stupid remark, we'd need to increase law enforcement personnel one hundred fold just to handle those calls.

Should Nathan have said what he said -- the way he said it? Hell, no. Likewise, IMHO, did he say it to threaten or intimidate anyone, or screw up the get-together? I don't think so. Who among us, my friend, have not, at one time or another, fired off some insanely stupid remark that even as we were saying it, hoped like hell nobody picked up on it? I sure as hell have...more times than I wish to recall. The problem here is that it is in print, incapable of being "talked over" or ignored or any of the hundred other things have can save our asses. Nathan's statement is right there, in black and white ... to be read, and re-read and continue to piss you off, and then "Boom!", somebody explodes !

It's unfortunate, and again, IMO, Nathan should apologize to anyone that was offended or feels intimidated by his remark. But, that's up to him, not me. It's "take a deep breath time", old buddy. And, as much as it pains me to recall, we were young once, too. And with age, our screw-ups still occur...just less often...we hope, anyway!

It was beyond ridiculous the moment a meetup was announced and the first words you posted had to do with bringing a gun. Whether you meant it as a joke, were hoping to get a reaction, or it goes to depths I can't imagine it was a very immature, unnecessary and threatening (to me) post. It made an event I had looked forward to one I can't attend. Using the threat of possessing a gun isn't the way a sane rational adult behaves. A person who is capable of such a threat may be capable of much more.

I am not willing to take that chance. I had planned to bring my son and my granddaughter with me to the WV Blog meet. My son, given his size and strength could easily handle Nathan one-on-one, but I do not want him or my granddaughter exposed to some wannabe with a gun and a grudge.

It is rather obvious that you do not have any children of your own, Price. If you did, you would understand that you do not needlessly put them at risk. You do not take chances that some madman (that's you) is going to take a shot, miss and hit them. Even if the risk is slim (you promised that you wouldn't shoot me) you don't take the chance.

It would be one thing if it was just me (that could be shot) but I would be irresponsible to put my children or grandchildren at risk just to make a show of it. I do not need to display my courage at the risk of my family.

You have previously proven that you cannot be trusted, Mr. Price. I will not take a chance with my granddaughter or my son.

And that is why I have contacted the Sedgwick County Sheriffs Office.

That is sick and your continued threatening language is even sicker.

For everyone: Has anyone here read the Four Agreements? Just curious. It's a very interesting (and short) book from a descendent of the Toltecs (Central America) who has passed on the traditions of the Four Agreements for centuries.

It's a great, fast read:

Well I'm sorry that the meetup went to hell in a handbasket.
My response to Nathan's comment about his gun having to be bigger than Mike's was a flippant, sarcastic remark.
Do I think Nathan would hurt someone? No not really. I think the gun is more of a show off piece (you know the joke about boys and their toys). However the remark for pant wetting was uncalled for and in my opinion an attempt at intimidation. (And as most of you know what I do, you will realize that I work with people trying to intimidate me on a very regular basis.)

I don't want to exclude anybody from the meetup. I was so looking forward to seeing Linda again and meeting Clark. We all are big people and can make our own decisions. Nathan, you know I'd love for you to come but if you do, please leave the gun in your vehicle. If you want to show it off, please have it in your vehicle unloaded. I would appreciate it.

Julie,

I would have liked to attend the meetup as well, but I'm sorry, if ANYONE is going to have guns present, I don't want to come. Maybe that's a naive viewpoint, but I am not afraid to admit that guns scare me. Well, maybe more accurately people with guns scare me. (probably comes from having an ex level a loaded 12 gauge at my face) And I don't want to knowingly be in the presence of a gun. So that's fine, if Nathan wants to bring his gun to the meet up let him. He is free to do so. And I am free to not attend. Should you decide to organize a get together that will be gun-free, I will be happy to come. I am disappointed I will not be able to attend this meetup as I was looking forward to it. But seriously, Nathan and his childish posturing and rants have pretty much ruined that for me...

So Nathan has repeatedly admitted that the only reason he comes here is to find a fight. He knows he is not welcome, but he insists on his "rights" as a poster and his "rights" as a gun carrier. He insists he will be here to intimidate and pronounce people wrong. Sounds like he insists on being here no matter what. Just like he insists on carrying his gun to the meetup.

Clark, there is a bone dig available on blog x where nathan bragged about carrying illegally. His dad did too, but I find Hank a lot more stable than the pup.

Tim McVeigh was a decorated military guy too. And he went off the deep end. I dont think being a marksman or trainer or guadian of the guns for the military is exactly a "get out of jail free" card. Not when you post threatening statements. And given the venom of your posts on both blogs, I think there is ample evidence of your thoughts about harming others.

If Nathan really was a gentleman, and he really had no evil intentions, then he would stay away from the meetup. And he would say so publicly.

I own and use guns too. I am not afraid of the guns. I am concerned about the gun nuts who own them. And use them. Isnt it the NRA who always says "guns dont kill people. People kill people"?

For some of us, it isnt the gun we are worried about. It is the person behind the gun named nathan.

Oh, and nathan? I dont care how many republican christian military character witnesses you produce. Your threatening words on this blog, and your admission on the other blog that you carried concealed BEFORE it was legal should be of concern to law enforcement.

On the internet, your words are forever. I think the Sheriff is capable of reading and understanding.

I have tried several times to expalian to them that I am here to argue about politics and that I don't take this stuff personally.

I have tried to do nothing but directly comment on their topics and writings.

I have repeatedly stated several times that I would never do anything to harm anyone unless they were tryring to harm me or someone else.

They are irrational. The more I say I am not threatening them, the more WS Clark comes over the top saying I am. I can't win. Who can win when you are dealing with such hatred and irrationality?

I have been to almost every sinlge blog meetup. I have eaten dinner with Julie and her husband. If anyone can attest to my not being some awful person she could.

Even when she said guns were not allowed, asked me not to bring it, and still attend, Linda still doesn't want me there.

It doesn't matter if I am bringing a gun or if I was bringing pea salad, it is obvious that there is such hatred from several on the left here that they simply don't want me to come.

Yet these are some of the same posters who constantly type here about everyone having their own opinion and own interpretation and understanding.

It is sheer total and utter hypocrisy.

I may have different opinions than you. I come here to discuss politics and argue. That is what I do on a blog. WS Clark was practically begging for it when I did start to come here.

Now when I do argue about what you say, you accuse me of coming here to cause trouble?

Well, start a topic about cooking or construction or gardening. I wont argue with you. If you are going to say something political which I disagree with on a public blog then be prepared for me to try to argue with you.

The crying and whining on this blog is simply pathetic.

I have never done anything to any of you other than disagree.

If you can't handle that, then perhaps it is you who should stop blogging here.

Once again, I never threatened any of you. I even placed a smiley face after it.

I was simply amazed that some here went so far with their reaction to it.

I have nothing to apologize for. I have been submitted to more threats by WS Clark then I have ever made.

WS Clark, Linda, and Tracy have been more vile to me than I have to them.

I am not going to be intimidated by a bunch of name calling because I post things which disagree with you.

The only person I apologize to about anything is Julie. I know what a nice wonderful person she is and I never expected people here to get so bent out of shape. She is the only one who seemed to even get the comment.

Well, I expected some to get bent out of shape, not just this much.

I will not bring my pistol if I do attend out of respect for Julies wishes. I will check the laws regarding concealed carry in the park. If they would have had a sign posted I would not have carry concealed.

Now lets see who continues on with their irrational rants...

Nathan, words have consequenses. Especially words posted in a public place. The only whining I hear is YOU whining because you were caught threatening to carry illegally. To a place that currently doesnt allow it. Seems like a responsible gun owner would have checked that out before issuing such threats.

I suspect you probably are harmless. But making the kind of gun threats and using the threat of cc to intimidate people is in opposition to the threats you have posted. And no, I dont think you are cho, but just to make a point...

...I'm sure most folks who actually knew him thought he was harmless too. But his WORDS and WRITING were enough to intimidate some of his classmates into going to the authorities and trying to get him removed from campus. I am sure they were called a buncha bedwetters and paranoids too.

Too bad THEIR bedwetting, soiling, and paranoia weren't taken seriously.

The meet up will not be the only place I will legally be carrying concealed.

Posted By Nathan | 4/24/07 11:04 PM

So yeah buddy, you did say you were going to be carring concealed at the meet up. Too bad you are so ignorant of the CURRENT gun laws you didnt know carrying in Watson Park was illegal.

And we should TRUST you with gun? When you lie and dont know the gun laws?

Woof. Julie, I'm really sorry but I think given nathan and his turd in the punchbowl attitude, a private, invitation only meetup is the only way to meet safely.

Nathan isnt the only person I am worried about causing trouble. JM? Republican? GS? et.al.?

If you all want a publicly announced meeting, I think you should go for it. Maybe some of the rest of us who feel more vulnerable could meet elsewhere and you could join us later?

Too bad a little turd like nathan can cause so much trouble. It seems to be his only mission here.

Nathan, of course it is your "right" to read and post here. But for the life of me why would you want to? I mean, other than to irritate, agitate, and aggrevate?

You prove with every post that you just want to cause trouble. It isnt hard for us to believe that is your intention attending the meetup as well.

Nathan,

the fact that nobody here likes you has nothing to do with your political viewpoints and everything to do with the deragatory way you "speak" to people.

You called Linda stupid. She has never said anything negative about you in anyway until the point where you call her stupid. YOU made it personal with name-calling. For that matter, you all but called me stupid as well, telling me I didn't know what I was talking about, when I had PROOF that you were wrong.

THAT is why noone likes you. It isn't about having differing viewpoints. Many of us on here have differeing viewpoints - some of us agree on some things and disagree on others. The difference is that NOONE else but YOU has ever spoken in such a deragatory manner to me. (I can't speak for your personal experience because I am not you) But any time that anyone else has disagreed with me on something, they are civil about it. YOU are not. THAT is the difference. THAT is why people don't like you here...

LH,

I, like you, don't feel compelled to need a concealed carry weapon. If it is legal, then at the same time, I don't care that some is carrying one either. I don't think I need to be told that they are carrying one either. With that...

Nathan,

I think the issue at hand here is that initially you didn't state you were going to carry a weapon but what was said implied that. However tempered it was with what may have been sarcasm some took it seriously(rightfully so, in my opinion). Those who are like me, when I read things generally take them literally and as such need a bit better cuing when something isn't serious. So, as interpreted by me, this may have indicated intent to carry a weapon.

Then later, it was stated that you would carry legally(I did catch that) in the places that you could. However, in parks it isn't legal, at least at OJ Watson park it is not. So I hope you will not carry there.

Wendy,

This has nothing to do with civility. If it is about civility then you would all be demanding that WS Clark leave too.

It is because I disagree with you. Plain and simple.

When WS Clark is constantly calling people names, telling them to STFU and whatever else he does, no one on the left says one thing to him. (Well, I think Linda finally said that it was wrong in one blog)

Where are your cries for civility?

When Tracy goes on the meltdown calling me names, where are your cries for civility?

You can pretend this is about civility, it is not.

Ever since that incident with Linda I tried to make things right and was even taking back what I had said because she was right about her not saying anything mean to me. Then both her and WS Clark said some pretty mean things to me.

You might think the way I respond to many things posted here is deragatory because I think many of the things posted here are not true.

What I don't do is go off on some tantrum of name calling like Tracy, I don't childishly ignore people like Linda and WS Clark do, I don't go off on a name calling STFU tantrum like WS Clark.

So now you sit here talking to me about civility?

Go back and read those comments Linda made about me and try to sit here talking to me about civility.

You people are a joke!

It was not a threat. It was not meant to be a threat. It was said to illustrate exactly what happened. That there are a bunch of left wing irrational people here when it comes to guns.

There is no law against carrying concealed legally.

Just because you don't like me on this blog is not enough to go to Law Enforcement with either.

Nathan,

I don't have to. I read what you posted about her. If it's okay for you, then it's okay for her, right?

And I just said in my post, had you bothered to read the damn thing which you OBVIOUSLY didn't, that I couldn't speak for your experience, but that I could tell you the reason I didn't like you is because of your behavior. You are the only one responsible for your behavior, don't try to make excuses about "but he did this" crap. That is childish.

And as far as tracy goes, if you want to talk shit about his extremely ill father, then I say he has free reign on you. I would do the same.

I have called Clark out on things before. Unfortunately, as it pertains to you, you typically start it. I have watched you do it. You even specifically stated on the other blog that those reactions were the whole purpose of your posts.

As far as Linda goes, I have never seen her be ANYTHING but nice or polite to anyone on this blog that she disagrees with, EXCEPT for you, and I would say she has good reason for that one. AS far as your apology, it was a little too little too late.

And the reason that Clark and Linda IGNORE you is to avoid situations like those that you cry so loudly about - would you rather they simply ignore you and your deliberately inflammatory statements, or fight like yesterday to the point where everyone is pointing fingers and noone is taking responsiblity? I would rather they ignore you.

And you are not civil to anyone on this blog. Not once have I ever seen you be anything but deliberately provoking and rude. So yes, I will lecture you about civility. Until you can be civil, you have no call to go pointing fingers at others.

And if we are such a joke, you are free to leave.

You'll note, my response was much shorter and more parsimonious than yours. Sorry again. The truth is always pretty simple, but also difficult.
Posted By darwinsdisciple | 4/6/07 11:06 PM “

Where were the cries for civility?

This is what I said to Linda after our little argument:

“I take it all back Linda. You have not been unkind to me in your posts.

I should have given you a chance to explain your comment before I ridiculed it.

So, why would you say that Bush is killing innocent people the way you did? Posted By Nathan | 4/7/07 11:03 PM”

What did WS Clark say after?

“Nathan, you are a two bit little muthafucker, and you know it. Your opinion means absolutely nothing. Posted By WSClark | 4/7/07 11:11 PM”

What did Linda say a little further down?

“I've never met you and never will (that is because I don't want to!). I just want you to know how much I don't admire you as a person. How much I am ashamed that you do represent my country. I think a person who is as disrespectful as you does a poor job of representing the country I take such pride in! Posted By lindainks55 | 4/7/07 11:23 PM”

All that and basically all I said was she was a dupe for believing certain things.

Now talk to me about civility. Wendy, where are your cries for civility now?

I have read you going after Tracy's father previously - at least, that is the way what you have said comes off. Perhaps, if you don't want people to react negatively to things you post, you should think about what you post before you do it. And quite frankly, given the fact that Tracy's dad is currently in a coma in ICU, THAT is why I don't think he was out of line. Wendy, I seen the product of Nathan's attacks on Tracy's father on the other blog. They were removed at Tracy's request. Tracy has every right to respond as he did.

I have a young brother that is a quadriplegic. Fortunately, he is married and has some abilities remaining. I know just a little of what Tracy is going through. I also have an elderly father that I have to care for on occasion. It is difficult enough without having some young punk mouthing off about it.

To me, I do not know why anyone would want to post here if they clearly were not wanted. I don't know why anyone would want to attend a blog meet if they knew that no one really wanted them there.

Anyway, there are better things to discuss.......

You are correct on that one! What on earth do you think posting crap about a mission accomplished statement is doing?

It is provoking to me. When people make claims about Bush killing innocent people, about Bush being a liar, and many other very serious allegations I take it serious.

If you want to post political crap then you had better be expecting a response. You had better expect them to be a provoking one too.

Why do you expect people to respond in loving, unprovoking language when serious statements about lies and killing innocent people are being made?

WS Clark,

You havn't seen anything. I never attacked Tracy's father. Tracy was using his father as a stick to beat us all over the head with because we didn't agree with stem cell research.

If I remember correctly I said he was using his father to exactly that.

I don't think anyone would have said one thing about his father if he hadn't interjected him into the discussion to try to say we are preventing him from being cured.

If anyone should be outraged it should be me.

Yet here you are still playing the pity party game.

I think it is tragic about his father. I wouldn't wish that for anyone. I pray that he will be ok according to God's will. I pray that Tracy is strong and protected in his time of need.

What I will not do is sit here and be brow beat because I don't agree with stem cell research and somehow that makes me guilty for attacking Tracy's father.

You are still taking the whole situation out of context and acting like I am some bad guy.

Longhorn,

If you have read anything I have ever posted, I have always said:

I don't care how uncivil people are. I sleep like a roke every night and it doesn't bother me.

The only time I "cry" about civility is when someone like Wendy comes along and says how uncivil I am. Then I point out the FACT that several others here are far more uncivil to me than I have ever been to any of them.

They are the ones crying about civility.

I come here because I like to debate and discuss politics.

I have never used a different name to post other than Nathan and accidently my father.

I have not been banned from the other blog. I have simply been caught up in this one since I got back from Idaho.

I was posting at the WEblog before I left.

If "these people" left because of incivility then they still have something to learn.

Actually, I still see WS Clark over on the WE blog posting away in his typical STFU way.

When people post stuff about the President, the war, or Republicans and I respond, how am I the one picking a fight?

If you are going to post political crap on a public blog then you should expect someone like me to come by and tell you that you are wrong.

I started posting here because of WS Clark. He can blame himself for that one. He posted that mission accomplished rant practically begging a conservative to answer his questions. Here I am.

Longhorn,

I don't remember the specifics of what was said. I remember the generality.

Which was that Tracy was the one using his father to beat us over the head with.

I don't know what these removed comments of mine were that were so bad.

So far, it is you who have been bouncing back and forth stirring things up about what I said. So you are not one to sit here lecturing me.

This is the hypocricy I am talking about around here. You are just as guilty if not more and yet you sit here talking to me about stirring things up?

Like I said, I don't get upset about what people say. Jut pointing out the inconsistency in the outrage here.

WS Clark,

Do you tell your grandkids to STFU, and constantly use the same foul language aroung them that you do here towards me and others who disagree with you?

I think you should be more worried about the way you act around your family than me.

You never learn, do you, Nathan? One, I don't post on WE Blog much, if at all. Go back and check. It has been at least a week since I posted there.

As for YOUR president and YOUR war? Apparently, you feel that should be off limits, despite the fact that seventy percent of the American people want us out of Iraq - right now. Despite the fact that YOUR president has the lowest approval rating of any president since Nixon was kicked to the curb.

That is Democracy - wasn't part of your rationale for war on Iraq was to spread Democracy? The government should respond to what the people want?

So, you and yours can call me a traitor, but YOUR president is off limits?

Christ, and you have the gall to call us hypocrites?

I guess that is your personal MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

"Do you tell your grandkids to STFU"

You are in no position to question me regarding my grandchildren, little man, but just for S & G, my grandchildren love me immensely. My granddaughter spends at least one weekend a month with me and we have a blast together.

My granddaughter frequently calls me, even though she only lives a few miles away. She just wants to talk to Gramps.

Do I tell them to STFU? Of course not, for one, there is no reason to, but that aside, my grandchildren are not irrational like some people, you for one.

I have three adult children - all good people - all self-sufficient - all free thinkers - all liberals.

My family is everything to me, since I did not have one until I started my own. Because they mean so much to me, I try to shield them from people like you - even the adults.

Truthfully, I would not even let a close friend anywhere near you.

To me, Nathan, you are radioactive.

WS Clark,

And you call me irrational?

I wonder if you would say what you do to me in front of your children and grandchildren?

Would you tell me to STFU, call me the names you do, while your grandchildren are listening?

Would you act this way in front of them?

Try thinking about that one.

Christ, get a life. Find a woman. Pay her if necessary.

You are how old? Twenty-three? Get a freakin' life man.

God, you are a sorry excuse for a human being.

Nathan, being a burr under the saddle of the world is not a good career choice.

Damn, you are one sick puppy.

Actually, now that I think about it, I think you are scared.

You are scared because you would have to be nice to me in public. You realize that you couldn't tell me to STFU or call me the names you do in person because you would look like a mean old man in front of your family.

I wonder what they would think of your language if they read this?

I on the otherhand have nothing to fear. I am nice, respectful, young man.

I was trying to comprehend the "cobbled up" version of last night's Daily Show, when it was reran on the sat earlier, thank the Lord. I could actually make some sense out it then. Jesus, Stewart really did "take no prisoners" there at the end. Without demeaning or undermining McClain's many contributions to and sacrifices for our country, if McClain can't hold his own any better than that with Jon Stewart, I don't want to see him POTUS. He just folded like a cheap suit on there. Still better than Billary (just had to through that in), but certainly not my first choice.

Why would I have to be nice to you in public, Nathan? Gonna shoot me if I don't? I have no obligation to be nice to you ever. Why would I be? I don't like you. I despise you. You make me sick. My granddaughter would be scarred for life just by seeing your face.

And you say that YOU are a nice, respectful young man?

Christ, give me a break.

And little man, I am not afraid of anything in this world. Don't kid yourself.

No television -- well a couple of fuzzy local channels -- until Dish Network gets here to put the dish back in alignment. The roofers put it back on the roof but it isn't pointed in the right way. It's actually been nice. McCain tries to be too much to too many.

Funny, RM, funny. I have to say that I am not a fan of Hillary, but she'll get my vote over a McCain or a Ghoul-iani. Personally, I like Obama, but the deck maybe stacked against him.

I thing I do not like about the American political system is it seems that the front runner is anointed early on, and after that, no one can touch them. There is no come from behind candidates.

As a Democrat (or whatever) I was quite unhappy that Kerry received the nomination in 2004. As predicted, he folded when the waters got rough.

Anyway............

I guess it would be nice, for once, to actually see anyone of the people who give me so much crap for be uncivil, say one darn thing to you WS Clark.

Oh well...

I think we have pretty much gone as far as we can on this one.

You are going to keep being a mean, foul mouthed person, but not in front of your family.

I am going to keep posting here.

Linda: I don't know about Dish Network, but DirecTV has the little dial-in(s) right on the back of the dish and you just dial in the azimuth, elevation and tilt ... and bingo! They should have given you those degree coordinates when they installed your dish initially, but if they didn't or you can't find them, just call them and they will give them to you over the phone. I just wrote mine in the instruction book. Now, three months later, I'm still trying to program the damned remote controls, but that's another story. :)

You know why I am not going to defend you? Because you STARTED IT! You cannot expect people to be nice to you when you are an ass to them.

Clark,

For the sake of my peace of mind, can you go back to ignoring Nathan? It was much nicer when you ignored him than when you called him names and got him all riled up. Thank you.

Is that Better for you Nathan? Have I held your hand long enough now? I simply said that the reason people don't like you is because, basically, you act like an ass on here. I'm done being civil too, since you can't seem to be civil to anyone.

If they gave me those little numbers I didn't understand what they were. In order to schedule an appointment I spoke with someone in the Philipines. Actually, I spoke with THREE people in the Philipines because I am very stubborn and insisted I speak to someone who could speak English. I hoped I might actually speak with someone here in the U.S. of A., but nooooo, no matter how much I begged, cajoled, it was the Philipines or no one. I have a short time left on the contract that got the equipment and installation free. I will seriously consider another supplier when that year is up. I was most upset with this most recent inability to contact anyone helpful.

WSC: NO, I don't think Obama has a chance. Actually, I think the only black man with a shot is Colin Powell, and, like I said the other day, I don't think he wants the job, and Alma sure as hell doesn't want him to have it. Gulliani was a good federal prosecutor, and, I suppose, a good mayor at a terrible time in a god-forsaken hell hole of a city, but he'll never be President. Bill's blowjobs pale, in the electorate's opinion, to three marriages. As previously espoused, Fred Thompson/Chuck Hagel is my dream ticket, but I don't even want to know what Vegas is giving on that long shot team.

You're right about the early anointments (which brings with it seemingly endless torrents of money) and about Kerry's folding as expected. I look for Gore to make an end run if Billary stumbles and he could end up with the nomination again ... and lose, again. The problem that both parties have is that all they have are newcomers (unknown evils) and has-beens (known evils). Regardless of which side prevails in '08, I foresee approval ratings paralleling the last few years for the next few years. Something that has surprised me, however, is the disdain I have picked up on from middle aged to older women voters for Billary ... a group that logic would reason to be her strength.

Come on GSter, it's like playing with those ants with a magnifying glass. We all did it and we all had fun doing it. Yes, it was a bad thing to do, but we just couldn't help ourselves. We aren't being played, it is the ants that have their butts on fire.

It's all good now, he's in the ignore bin, so life goes on.

It's a rainy day, G, I can't get out for my walk just yet, there was a rerun on L & O, so I had to play with something!

You have to give Hillary this much, RM, she sure prompts people to have STRONG feelings about her.

I have seen normally mild-mannered Democrats go ballistic about her - it's like throwing gasoline on a charcoal grill.

And that is the response from HER party.

Wow.

DirecTV has a center in the Phillipines, too. Luckily, one of my oldest friends is a DirecTV dealer in California, and after my one experience with the Phillipines, he told me that both DirecTV and Dish Network have people there, but, they each have four others in the US. So, he told me if it happened again, just don't even bother to say anything, just hang up, and immediately redial and it will go someplace else in the US. It does. Also, avoid calling at night, if possible, because a greater percentage of night calls in the US filter to the Phillipines than in our daytime.

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will.

You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time.

You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.

You'll fight with your best friend.

You'll blame a new love for things an old one did.

You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love.

So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.
